Okay you are here, Oh know!

Do you have an Apad (Android Tablet) or planning to buy one and don't have any idea about it? Okay. I will provide some information regarding Apad, Epad, Iped or whatever they call it based on my experience and readings. Hey, I am not an expert, huh?! Any comments or correction in this blog post is highly appreciated.:)

Most clone tablets are from China, don't expect to much to avoid disappointments.It is not a perfect replacement to branded tablets, laptop or android mobile phones so never compare their functions. It is recommended to social networking site addicts and e-book lovers. Internal storage is less but supports up to 32GB sd card.

Apad price ranges from 2,500 to 7,000 depending on its size and Operating system. Clone tablets are classified into three regardless of their brands, these are :

1. WM8505 - Old tablet
Processor speed: 150mhz to 284mhz
Memory: 128mb or 256mb
Storage: 2gb NAND or Non-NAND flash
Camera: 0.3 MP (most sellers tell 1.3MP but its not)
Battery life: 1hr and 30 mins + / - for standby
45min - 1 hr + / - for wifi/3g


2. WM8650 - New tablet
Processor speed: 600mhz to 800mhz
Memory: 256mb
Storage: 2GB Android 2.2 FROYO OR 1GB Android 2.3 GINGERBREAD
Camera: 0.3 MP (again, 1.3MP as marketing strategy)
Battery life: 2hrs + / - for standby
1 hr and 30 min + /- for wifi/3g

3. Infortm IMAPX210 or also known as Info TMIC or M009F

Processor speed: 800mhz/1000mhz
Memory: 256mb
Storage: 1gb NAND flash, (yup only 1gb)
Camera: 0.3MP
Battery life: 2hrs + / - for standby
1 hr and 30 min + /- for wifi/3g

To check, go to settings, scroll down and tap "about the device". If you are an Android user before this won't be a problem.

Don't be fooled by to much specifications posted in different buy and sell sites. Applications available in Android Market have compatibility issue with clone tablets. Luckily, there are modified ROMs available to resolve the issue. :)


I own a 7 inches clone android tablet with modified ROM, uberiod. WiFi is good and supports most Huawei broadband dongles, I'm using globe's Huawei E153-u2. It is rooted (rooted means you can access and modified drives and folders) so I can run Open VPN for stable internet connection. I have discovered that one-way video calling in yahoo messenger is working provided that required plug-in is installed.


I am satisfied with its performance except for battery life. I don't recommended Apad with SIM or call and text function. Why? Battery life of course.
